Bleach Manga Summary
Bleach manga story follows Ichigo Kurosaki, a teenager who can see ghosts. His life changes when he meets Rukia Kuchiki, a Soul Reaper who protects humans from dangerous spirits called Hollows. During a fight, Rukia gives Ichigo her powers so he can defeat a Hollow attacking his family. Ichigo accidentally takes almost all of her powers. He then starts working as a Substitute Soul Reaper and protects his town while helping lost souls.
Things become more serious when Rukia is taken back to the Soul Society and sentenced to death. Ichigo refuses to leave her behind. With help from his friends, he enters the Soul Society to save her. There, he fights several powerful Soul Reapers and discovers that Rukia’s execution is part of a much bigger plan. The real mastermind is Sōsuke Aizen, who betrays the Soul Society and escapes to the world of Hollows.
Aizen later creates an army of powerful Hollows called Arrancar. Ichigo and his friends become involved in a dangerous war against Aizen and the Espada. When Orihime is kidnapped, Ichigo travels to Hueco Mundo to rescue her. The conflict eventually reaches the human world. Ichigo faces Aizen in a final battle and uses an extremely powerful technique that costs him his Soul Reaper abilities. Aizen is defeated and imprisoned.
After losing his powers, Ichigo tries to live a normal life. However, he soon becomes involved with a group called Xcution. Its members are Fullbringers who have special abilities. Their leader, Kūgo Ginjō, initially offers to help Ichigo regain his powers. Ichigo later discovers that Ginjō has his own hidden agenda. With help from the Soul Reapers, Ichigo gets his powers back and defeats Ginjō.
The final major conflict begins when the Wandenreich, an army of Quincies led by Yhwach, declares war on the Soul Society. The Quincy invasion causes huge destruction and puts the balance between the worlds at risk. Ichigo learns more about his own heritage and discovers that his powers come from several different spiritual lineages. He then joins his friends and the Soul Reapers in the fight against Yhwach.
The story reaches its most intense point during the Thousand-Year Blood War. Ichigo, Uryū, Orihime, Chad, Aizen, and the Soul Reapers face Yhwach and his powerful Sternritter. After a difficult final battle, Ichigo defeats Yhwach with help from his allies. The war finally ends, and balance is restored to the three worlds. The original manga concludes with a time skip showing the next generation.
